I’ve always been a
fan of red velvet cake.
It has taken me
quite some time to find a good old fashioned red velvet cake in Taiwan. And I’m
glad to announce that the quest is over now that I’ve tried the red velvet cake
at Galerie Bistro – recipe by Chef Bernie.
This three-layer slice
of red velvet cake features vibrant red color topped with snow white frosting made of cream cheese.
The presentation is simply classy. A truly authentic red velvet cake is soft
and moist. And that is how I would describe Chef Bernie’s red velvet cake! Chef
Bernie didn’t skim on the ingredient and used beetroot juice for the red color.
In fact food coloring tends to cause a slight bitter aftertaste and can be a
risk to human health.
If you’ve never had
a red velvet cake the portion is perfect for sharing. All you need is one bite
and you’ll probably ask for another serving just for yourself. It’s that good.
