也許柏毅在表達能力比一般人少了些，但是他在繪畫上的天份不僅補足語言上的缺憾，更展現出他與眾不同的才華。由於自閉症，柏毅在日常生活中總是要面對各式各樣不同的挑戰，創作藝術已經成為他最重要的溝通媒介。他經常在作品中描述從他眼中看到的世界。
當柏毅開始學走路的時候，他就已經建立起一套獨特的表達方式。他會運用他的手指在空中自在的揮灑作畫，或者隨手抓來的紙筆，任何一隻蠟筆、鉛筆、甚至簽字筆，他都能拿來作畫。有時當柏毅的家人一覺睡醒，發現他老早就起床，已經在房間的牆壁上創造出一道繽紛亮麗的彩虹，還在旁邊加上微笑的花朵，可愛極了！

What Leland lacks in verbal communication skills he makes up with exceptional visual acuity. As Leland faces various challenges in daily life with autism, art has become an important means of communication. He often depicts the state of this world through his artwork.
As a toddler Leland had already established a unique way of expressing himself. Leland would make a picture with his fingers in the air or on a piece of paper with anything he could get his hands on – a crayon, a pencil or a marker. Sometimes Leland’s family would wake up in the morning and find Leland had painted a bright colorful rainbow with smiling flowers on his bedroom walls.
Leland is inseparable with art. He draws and paints just about anytime and anywhere he goes. Whether he is working on full size canvas or doodling in his sketchbooks, Leland is always focused and passionate about his creativity. BACKGROUND
在西元1989年五月二十九號的那一天，來自美籍台裔家庭的李柏毅出生於美國洛杉磯，他是個被醫師診斷出自閉症的十八歲青少年。目前他居住在台北。
Leland Lee is an 18 year old autistic teen. He was born on May 29, 1989 of a Taiwanese American family in Los Angeles. He currently resides in Taipei, Taiwan.
當柏毅只有十八個月大時，他的父母發現他的行為舉止出現很劇烈的變化。原本他是個很主動活潑的孩子，突然性情大變成了一個整天哭鬧不休、而且還會不時發脾氣耍彆扭、令父母頭痛不已的頑童。最令人傷腦筋的是在一夕之間，他不但喪失語言表達的能力，更退縮成一個對人事物沒有反應、活在個人世界的孩子。因為他的退化太過嚴重，他的父母立即尋求專家的協助。在經過多次的診斷和測驗，各方醫學機構的專家學者一致診斷出柏毅有自閉症的傾向，從此開始了他與自閉症搏鬥的一生。
At about 18 months of age, his parents noticed a drastic change in Leland's behavior. He went from being an interactive, verbal child to a whiny and crying toddler who would throw a temper tantrum for no apparent reason. Most troubling of all was the fact that he had stopped communicating and regressed into a state of non-responsiveness and reclusion. Because of this dramatic deterioration in his developmental state, his parents took immediate action by seeking expert help. After numerous diagnostics and testing, the experts at various medical institutions confirmed Leland to be autistic. Hence, Leland's life-long battle with Autism began.
