My cell phone rang and I looked at the caller ID. It’s Vinny from my previous job.
V: How are you?
Me: Really good.
V: Guess what? I ran into a scumbag yesterday.
Me: Who? Who’s the scumbag?
V: That scumbag you dated several years ago. Oh get this. He’s getting married. I met his fiancé too.
Me: ﹙Dude, I think you’re a bigger scumbag than my ex!﹚Don’t tell me that you wanted to call me to share his engagement?!?!﹙scumbag!!!﹚
V: Aren’t you upset?
Me: Should I be upset? Would you like me to be upset?! I can pretend to be upset if that makes you happy.
V: Well…….it’s just…..you know…..
Me: Sorry. I don’t know. I loved him when we’re together ‘cuz he loved me too. I forgive you and please find something better to do with your life. Go practice on your compassion!
