The Newest Oyster Bar in Taipei! 台北最新的生蠔吧

International Oyster Bar in Taipei!!!

I love OYSTERS! And seeing oyster bars popping up in Taipei brings me joy because it’s a sign that this city is ready to indulge in one of the finer things in life that this world has to offer!

The concept of oyster bar for the Taiwan market has been talked about for years but was never fully executed. And now with the opening of OYSTER ICHI that just elevates the F & B industry in Taipei up a notch.

Like most oyster bars around the world OYSTER ICHI offers a wide range of oysters from all over the world. And it has a nice bar counter for people to sip white wine and enjoy oysters while mingling with the staff working behind the bar.

What’s neat about this place is that national flags are placed by the oysters to indicate the origins. Very self-explanatory!

And when a tray of oysters is brought to your table (you can choose to sit at the bar or a table as you wish) national flags will be displayed on the platter to let you know what you’re about to have, the name of the oyster and its origin. There’s also a red arrow, pointing at a specific oyster that you should start off with and continuing to work your way around the platter clockwise.

For instance, we ordered oysters from Japan, France and Canada. So, on our platter the red arrow was placed by the Japanese oysters and the staff recommended us to continue with the black pearls from France and finish it off with Pacific from Canada. They’re delicious!

And the staff was right. We didn’t need any sauces for the oysters even though they did have some real fine French red wine vinegrette and Japanese rice vinegrette. Just a few drops of lemon would do. Oysters are good as they are – FRESH! That’s what I’m talking about – the simple pleasure in life!
