Ever since I published the pictures of me and my mother, the consensus has been none other than "You don't look like your mum." Duh!!! It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
Seriously, what do you kids expect to see? JOAN RIVER?!?! People probably just assume that my mother will be loud and obnoxious based on what they've seen of me. So, I guess the way I am helps envision my mom as someone with a flamboyant lifestyle. NOT!
Contrary to popular opinion, my mother is very low-key. She's not brand conscious but she prefers quality goods. She's not loud but she makes sure that her point of view is well-understood. And NO, my mother does not own any clothing that comes with a plunging neckline.
On the outside, I don't resemble my mother at all. However, I believe that my mother and I both suffer from OCD - obsessive-compulsive disorder.
We need to have everything neat and tidy. We cannot tolerate mess and clutter whether it's dirty laundry that's been sitting in the basket for two days or dirty dishes that are in the sink when they could have been washed right away. We believe that everything has its place - it has to be put back to where it belongs after each use.
Perhaps there's no obvious genetic inheritance between me and my mother but I certainly inherited a good virtue - cleanliness. That could score some brownie points with my future husband-to-be. LOL.
