Congrats to Bolai & Billy!

For the first time in my experience of attending weddings, I went from a guest like everyone else invited to the wedding reception to the MC for the evening. Go figure! Nonetheless, it was a fun event and I'm glad to be part of it. Even though I wasn't able to make it to the San Francisco wedding, at least I made it to Taipei's reception and even hosted the event. Oh did I mention the third one is in New York?! Weddings around the world!

Despite being unprepared to do such an important hosting, I received many compliments afterwards. However, I do wish to know beforehand next time around. Please RSVP if you plan on having me as the MC!

Attending this wedding has a special meaning because I was there from the beginning. I met Bolai and Billy shortly after they went on a blind date. The funny thing is that they tell different stories about how their first date ended even till this day.

We took a trip to Hong Kong together for the new years in 2001. Wild and crazy partying!!! It was a last-minute vacation for me. I was going through a breakup at the time. My broken heart needed a boost and I wouldn't have gotten over it if it weren't for my fabulous friends who took me on an unforgettable journey.

We've had some awesome times in Taipei and San Francisco throughout the years. When they bought a house in the Sunset district, I was there even before the housewarming party.

So, this is truly a happy ending for Bolai and Billy. And I'm supposed to say, "And they live happily ever after!"

A Surprise Engagement Party

What do you know, uh? Just when I think that I can't take anymore engagement / wedding news, my childhood best friend decided to propose to his girlfriend of one year.

He planned everything carefully and even rehearsed several times. It was very touching and sweet. There goes another good man...

More Engagements & Weddings!

The other night I received a call from D.T. He was my boyfriend in junior high school. That makes him my first love, doesn't it? Anyway, we've kept in touch throughout the years and took a vacation in Vegas together in 2004. He was calling to invite me to his wedding. "I've reserved a table to seat all my ex-girlfriends at the reception," he proudly announced with a smirk.

I must be getting to that age now. 31 going on 32, this year I've received more weddings invitations than ever before! Not to mention the "Just Got Engaged" Emails, those will wed soon too.

Now I look back in my dating history, some of my ex-boyfriends and the bachelors who once had my brief attention have settled down. What does this signal? The end of an era in fabulous singlehood?! No more "Party 'till you drop" and get the baby's formula ready!

Onto another subject, here's a special shout out to my dear friend Jeremy. We celebrated his birthday last week in Taipei's Grand Hyatt Hotel. The champagne and dinner were great. And I will always remember the most incredible birthday cake we shared. I have not had this much fun in weeks.

"Thank you for always being there for me. You make me realize what friends are for and understand the true meaning of friendship. Friends Forever! Thank you for brightening up my stressful life. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING!"

Happy Birthday to Jeremy!
