Update from TV Land

This TV work has completely taken over my life. I have little time for beauty sleep, let alone any time for friends and family. Just when I'm exhausted from work, my friend Danny always sends me a photo album from his most recent adventure around the world with his lovely wife Amy.

Life ain't fair! What Danny does to me is a total tease! I'm super jealous! Married couples are not supposed to have so much fun! Don't you kids have to work?!?! They are having such a blast being married and it makes me curious about marriage. What if that's where my ultimate happiness has been hiding all along?

Life in TV land is fast-paced. The truth is that I spend all my energy on work. I hardly have time for friends and family, let alone beauty sleep! This home shopping network is quite interesting. We've been in operation since January 1st. The training courses began in October and ever since life has been hectic.

Live TV can be nerve-wrecking for people who are not used to being in front of camera. It took me no time getting used to it. However, this work is very time-consuming and demanding. It's also a very cruel business - when you start slipping, there's always someone waiting to replace you. By now, we already let go three TV hosts and more candidates showed up to fill in the spots.

Everyday goes by fast because I'm always at work. I go on five to six days a week. Getting hair, make-up, and wardrobe done by professionals is almost like playing dressing up every day. However, there's more to it than meets the eyes. I always do my best every time I'm up there and try to have fun while I'm at it. I like most of my colleagues, including my supervisors and direct bosses. I'm still learning the ropes in surviving in Taiwanese companies.

The other day I found out that from Monday through Thursday, between 6 to 8 pm, two blind masseurs come to our office to service the staff. Isn't that neat? Each session is 15 minutes and it's FREE! We only need to tip them 30 NT ($1 US dollar). That's the best employee benefit I've seen so far except for our employee discount since I joined the network.

Time to take a break! I'm gonna get a massage!
